| History has seen a variety of different sauna
types in Finland and other cultures have had their own versions
of the sweat bath: the North American native Indian Inipi,
the Russian bania and the Turkish steam bath. The nomad people
wandering around in what later became Finland already heated
holes in the ground and covered them with a tarp to have a
warm place for bathing. Later the sauna became a dedicated
part of the house or often a separate building slightly apart
from the main habitat. Today the modern Sauna has become a
way of life, as its popularity has spread around the world."

Original Hot Tub & Saunas
combines the age-old tradition
of cooperage (barrel making) and
modern manufacturing
technologies to produce one of
the world's finest cedar sauna.
We take the time-tested art of
barrel making to extreme
accuracies including Computer
Aided Milling and Computer Aided
Design. |
The
natural design of our barrels provides 23% less cubic heating
area while maintaining the same seating capacity as a square
sauna. This results in a sauna that can be heated in less
time, therefore cost less to operate. Word of mouth
continues to be our most effective marketing tool as "a
satisfied customer, will tell others"

Our choice of "select"
grade western red cedar is the perfect choice for any outdoor
application and is long been the premier wood for sauna
construction.
We use 4 x stainless steel straps (304L grade) to prove
a solid structure support with no chance of the staves warping.
Stainless steel is more expensive but will never rust or
oxidize the cedar wood.
Our doors are pre-hung using "clear" western red
cedar. The doors are fully insulated and come with real
brass hardware. Our tempered glass door option contains
a double pained high heat, tinted glass window.
Our milling design uses two separate joints; a canoe joint
for the staves and T&G joint for the walls giving superior
strength and rigidity.
Pressure treated 2"x 8" floor
joists support the sauna solidly.
Bi-level seat structure, allows for different seat height
levels, great for kids or cooling off ! All seats are made
from clear western red cedar and are hand sanded to provide
a sliver free comfortable finish.
High quality energy efficient heaters
designed specifically for a saunas using stainless steel
covers.
